Joe Loughlin is an award-winning attorney with two decades of litigation experience across Washington and Oregon state. Joe grew up the Pacific Northwest attending Washington State University and Seattle University School of Law.  Joe is committed to protecting the rights of individuals facing life-altering legal challenges, whether they've been injured due to someone else’s negligence or are defending themselves against criminal charges. His practice holds a strong presence in the Vancouver and Portland metro area, specializes in personal injury and criminal defense cases.

 Joe’s legal career began as a Washington State criminal prosecutor where he developed the trial skills and courtroom experience that continues to define his approach today. He went on to serve as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer in the Washington Army National Guard in 2009 and continues to serve to this day. Joe brings unique experience to military-related legal matters, having represented service members in wrongful termination cases under the USERRA Act. Preceding his career in the legal profession,  Joe also served honorably on active duty in the United State Marine Corps, obtaining the rank of Sergeant, from 1996-2000.

Joe distinguishes himself from other attorneys for his unique experience of having fought on both sides of the courtroom. With a background as a JAG officer and a former state prosecutor, he possesses a unique skill set that gives him a strategic edge when navigating complex legal matters. This dual perspective allows him to anticipate the strategies of opposing counsel and craft more effective defenses, providing his clients with unparalleled legal representation.

 Later in his career, Joe joined the legal team at Harlan Law Firm, where he practiced for many years. Joe later left the firm and founded his own law office located in downtown Vancouver, where he practices today. Joe has been awarded as one of the Nation’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyer and received the Rising Star award for DUI defense by the Super Lawyers Magazine. Joe is known for his tenacious advocacy, strategic mindset, and genuine care for the people he represents.
